In a tweet shared in December 2022, the iconic singer expressed her amazement to Alexander, A.E., along with a photo of a diamond ring that Edwards gifted her for the holidays. Cher revealed that upon waking up, the first thing she thought was to show her ring to her mother, who has a fondness for diamonds. She admitted to shedding a tear, which she believed to be a natural reaction, and mentioned that they had been discussing her mother the previous night, noting her admiration for her.

Cher expressed a desire for her late mother, Georgia Holt, to have seen the beautiful ring, but she clarified that it was not an engagement ring. In May, it was confirmed that Cher and Edwards had ended their relationship, though they remained amicable. "I often find myself talking to him, only to realize that he has no clue who or what I am referring to," Cher humorously mentioned to Extra. "Just the other day, I mentioned someone like Clark Gable and he responded with, 'I have no idea.' While there are a few individuals who are familiar with these references, for the most part, he looks at me and admits, 'I wasn't even born yet.'"
