Charity Lawson is currently in New York City shopping for wedding dresses, a plan she never imagined would come true.

First introduced to Bachelor Nation on the flagship show in January 2023, the 28-year-old Lawson starred in the 20th season of The Bachelorette. She found love and got engaged to integrative medicine specialist Dotun Olubenko. Shortly after the finale aired in August, Lawson joined season 32 of Dancing With the Stars. She danced her way to a fourth-place finish with her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev in December.

Lawson shared with The New York Times in an article released on Saturday, April 6 that it all feels overwhelming. She never expected to find herself in this situation so quickly, not even thinking about getting engaged.

Now, the ex-Bachelorette is searching for the ideal dress. Lawson chatted with The New York Times during her visit to New York Bridal Fashion Week, a three-day event from April 2 to 4. This event is where bridal designers showcase their newest collections to journalists, buyers, and soon-to-be brides.

Lawson is getting married in 2025 and she wants to have her dress chosen by July. She and her partner, Olubenko, are planning to have one ceremony in California in the fall of 2025, followed by a traditional Nigerian wedding in Lagos.

Lawson shared with NYT that she often gets asked by reporters and strangers about her wedding date, which she and her partner have chosen to keep private. She mentioned, “People are so curious about when we are getting married, but that is something personal between us, our families, and our loved ones.”

Lawson began looking for a wedding dress shortly after undergoing a boob job, which she shared with her followers on TikTok on Friday, April 5. In the video, she mentioned that she was one week post-op and described the procedure as the “best decision” she has made for herself “in a hot minute.”

Addressing the speculation surrounding her surgery, Lawson expressed gratitude for the supportive messages she received from fans. She thanked them for their encouragement and uplifting words during this time.

She mentioned, "If I turn to the side a little bit, it's still in proportion with my frame. I'm very petite and tiny, so I knew that going in. I didn't want it to be like, 'Oh my God, this girl got her titties done.'"

After her surgery, the Bachelor Nation star mentioned that she was healing well enough to even hop on a plane to attend New York Bridal Fashion Week.

"I flew back to New York, attended New York bridal week, and now I'm back in L.A.," she mentioned. "I should probably try to cut down on flying so often, but there's just so much to do."
