Celtic have officially signed Hyunjun Yang, a South Korean forward, on a five-year contract. Last Saturday, the 21-year-old played his last match for Gangwon, as confirmed by the K-League club on social media.

After progressing through their youth ranks, he has made 69 appearances for the team. Yang has featured in all but one of their 22 league matches this season, starting in 19 of them. The team's current position in the league table is second from the bottom.

Celtic's summer transfer window has seen the addition of three new signings, including Under-23 South Korean international Mario Tilio from Melbourne City. Another forward, Odin Thiago Holm, has been acquired from Valerenga. Additionally, midfielder Tomoki Iwata, who was on loan from Yokohama F Marinos, has now become a permanent signing for Celtic.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: "We're delighted to bring Yang to the club and I'm sure he's going to be another great addition to the squad.

He is a player whom we have closely observed and believe will strengthen our attacking choices. Notably, we already have his compatriot Oh as part of our attacking options.

He is a thrilling player who earned the title of Young Player of the Year in South Korea last season, showcasing his exceptional skill. I am confident that he is eager to make a significant impact at the club.

"It's evident that he had a strong desire to make the transition to Celtic, so I'm certain he'll be overjoyed now that all the details have been finalized. We are truly excited about collaborating with him and eagerly anticipate the opportunity."

"I'm thrilled to finally be here in Scotland as a Celtic player, making the move I've been longing for.

Having had a conversation with Hyeongyu Oh, who has shared nothing but positive things about the club and its loyal fans, I'm eagerly looking forward to meeting them and playing in front of them."
