Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is in need of a new center-back as Cameron Carter-Vickers and Maik Nawrocki have been sidelined for eight weeks. During Celtic's recent league victory over Aberdeen, Carter-Vickers suffered a hamstring injury, and unfortunately, the severity of the problem is worse than initially anticipated.
New signing Nawrocki encountered a similar issue after the Viaplay Cup loss to Kilmarnock on Sunday. Rodgers was already aware of Stephen Welsh's absence due to ankle surgery and now expects Nawrocki to be out for a similar duration.
In anticipation of St Johnstone's upcoming visit on Saturday, the Celtic manager expressed his disappointment regarding the absence of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki, and Stephen Welsh, who are likely to be out for approximately eight weeks.

Stephen Welsh is out after ankle surgery
Stephen Welsh recently underwent a successful operation, and he has recovered well from it. As for the other two individuals, we had initially anticipated their return to be earlier. However, upon further examination through additional scans, it appears that they will likely need another eight weeks to fully recover.
When questioned about the possibility of seeking reinforcements in that particular region before next week's transfer deadline, Rodgers acknowledged the need to consider it. He acknowledged that we are lacking in that specific area.
"When you lose three players for a significant amount of time, and considering the number of games and the significance of each game, looking into it is certainly a necessity."
