CD Projekt Red Has No Interest in Being Acquired

CD Projekt Red vehemently rejects the idea of being acquired, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to maintaining their independence as a studio

CD Projekt Red has stated that it is not interested in being acquired or becoming a part of a bigger company, and is committed to maintaining its independence.

In an interview with Parkiet, CEO Adam Kicinski emphasized, "We have no desire to be assimilated into a larger organization. We have dedicated ourselves to reaching our current status and believe that in the coming years, we will continue to grow and strengthen even further."

Kicinski reiterated that CD Projekt Red has no plans for acquisitions and is uninterested in mergers solely for financial consolidation. This stance on independence has been consistent for several years and remains a key asset for the company as it pursues ambitious plans. Currently, CD Projekt Red is working on multiple projects, including The Witcher 4 (codenamed Polaris), a remake of the first Witcher game, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and a new original IP (codenamed Hadar).

CD Projekt Red let go of multiple employees last year, but Kicinski reassured that the staff will have stable employment as they transition between working on Cyberpunk and Polaris. Additionally, Kicinski also anticipated an increase in employment by 2025.
