Cassie Ventura recently took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received following the release of a 2016 surveillance video showing her being physically assaulted by her then-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In her post, Ventura thanked her family, friends, strangers, and even those she has yet to meet for their love and support during this challenging time. She mentioned that the outpouring of love has helped her younger self find a sense of safety and comfort, but she emphasized that this is just the beginning of her healing journey.
Ventura emphasized that domestic violence is a significant issue that deeply affected her. Despite the challenges, she has worked hard to improve and continues to heal from her past experiences. She now directs her efforts towards helping others seek support.
Please open your heart to believing victims the first time. It's not easy to speak the truth about a situation where you felt powerless. If you're still living in fear, remember that you're not alone. Reach out to your loved ones for support.
Ventura offers her hand to those who need it. She understands that the healing journey is ongoing, but having support from others is incredibly important to her.
Combs and Ventura had an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018. Ventura filed a complaint in November 2023, accusing Combs of raping her in 2018 and subjecting her to years of physical and other abuses during their time together.
Combs has denied the allegations made by Ventura.
Ben Brafman, a lawyer representing Combs, clarified to CNN in November that settling a lawsuit, particularly in 2023, does not mean admitting fault. He emphasized that Combs' choice to resolve the legal matter does not contradict his firm denial of the allegations. Brafman also mentioned that Combs is pleased with reaching a mutual agreement and wishes the best for Ms. Ventura.
In addition, Combs issued an apology on Sunday for his behavior captured in the surveillance footage.

Ventura's attorney, Meredith Firetog, was not happy with his response. She told CNN that when Cassie and several other women spoke out, he denied everything and insinuated that the victims were just after money.
Ventura and Combs agreed not to mention each other in their statements. According to sources familiar with the agreement, their November settlement prohibits them from discussing each other in any manner.
Combs is facing increasing legal problems.
In recent months, Combs has faced seven civil lawsuits, including Ventura's. Six of these lawsuits, with one filed just this Tuesday, involve allegations of sexual assault. One of the suits names Combs' son, Christian Combs, as a defendant. However, only Ventura's lawsuit has been settled.
On March 25, 2024, authorities searched Diddy's homes. This action was part of a federal investigation led by a Department of Homeland Security team focused on human trafficking and other crimes. According to a senior federal law enforcement official briefed on the investigation, Diddy is a target of this investigation.
The investigation is based on the sexual assault allegations mentioned in the civil lawsuits, as shared by a second law enforcement source familiar with the searches.
Combs and his attorneys have denied the allegations, with six lawsuits still ongoing.
