Carey Mulligan shows that even parent-teacher conferences can have a touch of glamour.

In a recent episode of Vogue's "Beauty Series" on March 18, the 38-year-old actress shared her beauty routine with fans. She began by pampering her skin with hyaluronic micellar water, serums, and a moisturizer from Lancôme. Mulligan humorously mentioned, "I enjoy taking care of my skin as much as I can before my child or husband interrupts me to go somewhere. It's a luxury to have some quiet time to myself."

After applying La Mer's eye cream, she then brought out the "big guns" - the Lyma Laser. Mulligan shared that she treated herself to this laser a couple of years ago, considering it her own personal Oscars gift. The laser, priced at almost $3,000, is designed to diminish wrinkles, scars, and other skin imperfections.

Feeling prepared, she switched gears and joked, "My skin is ready, time to channel my inner parent-teacher conference mode," as she reached for her Chantecaille Future Skin Gel Foundation.

Next, the actress used Sisley Paris’ Phyto-Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer as she thought about her recent roles in films that didn't need her to wear heavy makeup.

Mulligan mentioned, "In our industry, there's a lot of pressure on beauty, which can be overwhelming. I've been fortunate to have roles that don't focus solely on that aspect." She also mentioned that wearing less makeup has saved her time during her morning routine.

Mulligan, who usually avoids heavy makeup, finds it enjoyable to alter her look for different roles. In the movie Maestro, her character Felcia is shown at various ages, which Mulligan found fascinating during the makeup process. She also commended her glam team for their work in transforming her into Poor Deal Pamela in Saltburn. The makeup for this role included heavy eyeshadow, dark eyebrows, and bright fuschia lips, creating a fabulous look.

“It was almost an entire mask of makeup,” she explained. “It was very collaborative and I loved working with that team.”

Mulligan started by filling in her eyebrows with a pencil and then grooming them with clear gel. She likes to keep them thick and bushy like "caterpillars" after her role in the Great Gatsby, where they were styled thin in a 1920s look.

To complete her look, Mulligan added some eyeshadow, mascara, brown eyeliner, blush, tinted lip balm, and facial mist.

Mulligan jokingly mentioned that she was going to check on how her children are doing at school after finishing the video.

She has a daughter named Evelyn Grace, who is 8 years old, and a son named Wilfred, who is 5 years old, with her husband Marcus Mumford.
