Cardi B is challenging Rapunzel's reign by flaunting her natural hair, and it may be thanks to a homemade product she created. The 30-year-old rapper, famous for her versatile hairstyles including vibrant wigs, textured hairstyles, and braids, took to Twitter on Tuesday, August 8, to reveal her hair in its unaltered state, without the use of weaves or extensions.
“My hair has grown tremendously!!! If y'all are interested, I can provide you with a video showcasing my personally crafted HOMEMADE hair oil. I take pride in the fact that it is handmade by none other than myself,” Cardi expressed with enthusiasm, accompanying her words with a captivating selfie revealing her luscious, long locks.
Cardi B's hair, a cascade of brunette tresses, flowed down to her waist in the snap. Her hair journey was applauded by her famous friends and followers, with singer Victoria Monet even asking Cardi to send her the oil. Monet, 30, tweeted, "My edges thank you in advance."
Cardi previously praised a different hair product for home use, showcasing her natural locks in a TikTok video in August 2022. In the caption, she excitedly shared, "I've been using a secret vegetable water on my hair. Can you guess which vegetable it is? Here's a hint, I did a tutorial on it about six years ago."
Her devoted fans swiftly found a since-disappeared Instagram Story where Cardi blended avocado and argan oil. She also mentioned adding mayonnaise, castor oil, and olive oil, revealing that she applies this mixture to her 5-year-old daughter Kulture's hair. "I know it's a lot of oil, but I want my baby girl's hair to be highly moisturized like mine. I'll also be adding egg and honey," she explained.
Cardi revealed that this concoction is a popular remedy used in Caribbean homes. Born in New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood, Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, has a Dominican father and a Trinidadian mother.
According to Cardi, this mixture serves as an effective hair mask for promoting hair growth. She emphasized the importance of nourishing not only our bodies but also our hair with beneficial substances.
Cardi B and her husband Offset, whom she married in September 2017, have a son named Wave, born in September 2021. Additionally, Offset has three other children from previous relationships: Jordan, aged 13, Kody, aged 8, and Kalea, aged 8, making them a blended family.
