Cardi B revealed that her struggles with anxiety have been a major obstacle in releasing new music and fully enjoying her life in 2023.

During an episode of 360 with Speedy on Saturday, March 16, the 31-year-old artist opened up about feeling like she had lost herself amidst pressure from music critics and fans. Many people speculated that she was afraid to release new music, as she barely dropped any tracks the previous year. Cardi admitted, "I was just afraid to do everything."

It has been six years since Cardi B released her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, which went four times platinum in 2018. Fans have been eagerly awaiting her next album.

Last year, Cardi only released one single titled "Bongos" in September 2023, featuring Megan Thee Stallion. However, now, after six months, Cardi is starting to make a comeback.

Cardi recently released a freestyle track called "Like What" in the first week of March, followed by a new single titled "Enough (Miami)" on Friday, March 15th. Reflecting on 2023, Cardi admits that she struggled with confidence and avoided her usual public appearances.

She confessed, "I was scared to go live, scared to post a picture, scared to go to the club, and then the next day, seeing people and worrying about what they would say about me."

In 2023, the Grammy winner, who was famous for her outgoing and sometimes bold social media posts, admitted that she needed a break from her fear of criticism.

"I enjoy discussing politics and various topics, but lately, I've been feeling hesitant to engage in those conversations. I just don't want to deal with the constant criticism and negativity every single day. It's exhausting," she expressed.

Cardi has started to feel unsure about her music, to the point where she decided to record a remix for Ice Spice's popular 2022 song "Munch (Feelin' U)," but ultimately chose not to release it.

Cardi expressed her love for the record but admitted she wasn't happy with how she sounded on it. She felt the pressure of being on a drill beat, realizing it's not as easy as it may seem. She feared being criticized and thought the song would be dragged down because of her performance.

Despite her initial doubts, Cardi acknowledged the record's greatness and her desire not to mess it up with her verse. She was disappointed in her own delivery, feeling embarrassed that she couldn't catch the beat properly.

Now, Cardi has regained her confidence and is gearing up to finally release her highly anticipated second album.

During an Instagram Live session on March 1, she made a promise to everyone. She said, "This year, I won't let my anxiety, I won't let the negative comments from haters, I won't let the opinions of fans affect me. If I make a song, I'll just release it without holding back."
