Cardi B is gearing up to start the new year as a strong, independent woman. "I've been flying solo for a while now," the 31-year-old rapper revealed during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, December 10. This announcement came on the same day that her husband, Offset, refuted rumors of infidelity with rapper Chrisean Rock.

During her live session, Cardi openly admitted that the recent cheating accusations against Offset made her realize it was time to go public with her single status. She shared with her fans, "The last time I got on Live ... I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you. So, I was like, ‘I changed my mind.’ But it has been like this for a minute now, and I just took it as a sign.”

Concluding the discussion, Cardi expressed her desire to approach 2024 with a fresh and open mindset. She stated, “I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. I’m excited.”

Over the weekend, Offset, 31, responded to accusations by rapper Blueface of cheating on Cardi with Blueface’s ex Rock, 23, in now-deleted tweets. “I haven’t spoken to or been involved with that woman,” Offset replied. “Honestly, you need some help!”

Last week, Cardi and Offset caused a stir when they both posted cryptic messages and unfollowed each other on Instagram. “You know when you just outgrow relationships,” Cardi shared on her Instagram Story on December 4. “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…I HAVE TO PUT MYSELF FIRST!”

Offset posted a clip from the 1983 film Scarface on his Instagram Story on the same day. The clip features Al Pacino's Tony Montana stating, "Hey, f–k you man! Who put this thing together? Me, that’s who. Who do I trust? Me." We contacted the representatives of the pair for comment at that time.

They encountered their first infidelity scandal that year when videos surfaced online allegedly showing Offset in bed with other women. In December 2018, Cardi announced their separation after a year of marriage, stating in an Instagram video, "It's nobody's fault. I guess we grew out of love but we are not together anymore."

She added, "I'm not sure, getting a divorce could take some time and I will always have much love for him since he is the father of my daughter." Cardi and Offset have a daughter, Kulture, 5, and a son, Wave, 2. Additionally, Offset has children named Jordan, 13, Kody, 8, and Kalea, 8, from previous relationships. Following a brief reconciliation, Cardi filed for divorce in September 2020 but withdrew the filing less than two months later.

The former couple dealt with another cheating scandal this year when Offset accused Cardi of being unfaithful. Cardi responded on June 26, saying, "First of all, let me say. You can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of. Sing it with me, y’all. And I see that it is easy for you to blame everything on me. Yes, honey!"

Offset later confessed to fabricating the false rumor during a July episode of the "Way Up With Angela Yee" podcast, admitting that he was "really lit" on tequila when he made up the lie.
