America's most well-known college athlete, Caitlin Clark, is all set to transition into the professional league. The star guard from Iowa Hawkeyes, known for her incredible scoring abilities, clutch performances, and impressive shooting range, revealed her decision to enter the WNBA Draft following the 2023-24 college season on Thursday, February 29.

Clark, a senior, still has one year of college eligibility left because of the NCAA's decision to grant student-athletes an extra year due to the pandemic. Despite leading Iowa to the National Championship Game and breaking the women's basketball scoring record last season, Clark believes she is prepared for the next chapter.

In a message shared via X on Thursday, Clark expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who has supported her throughout her time at Iowa. She thanked her teammates for making the past four years unforgettable, her coaches, trainers, and staff for always allowing her to be herself, the dedicated Hawkeye fans who fill Carver-Hawkeye Arena every game night, and all the supporters across the country, especially the young fans.

Clark is focused on achieving more with the Hawkeyes this season before thinking about playing professionally. She is very close to breaking Pete Maravich’s all-time college basketball scoring record of 3,667 career points, only needing 18 more points. With an average of 32.2 points per game and consistently scoring over 21 points in each game this season, she is likely to set a new record in the upcoming game against Ohio State on Sunday, March 3, which will be broadcasted on Fox.
