King Charles III is alive, despite a false report stating otherwise. The New York Post reported that Buckingham Palace addressed the situation on Monday, March 18th. This was in response to a Russian news organization spreading misinformation about the death of Charles, who is 75 years old.
The palace confirmed to the Russian state-run TASS news agency on Monday that The King is carrying on with both official and private matters.
The Russian media outlet published a fake statement that mimicked correspondence from the palace, complete with the monarch's official seal. The fabricated announcement falsely claimed that The King had passed away unexpectedly the previous afternoon.
Speculation has been growing about Charles’ health as reports indicate that the BBC is gearing up for a significant announcement concerning the royal family. Some fans speculate that the news will focus on Princess Kate Middleton and her recovery following abdominal surgery, while other rumors suggest that the palace may provide an update on Charles’ battle with cancer.
On February 5, Buckingham Palace disclosed that Charles had been diagnosed with "a form of cancer" after receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate. Although specific details about the king’s condition were not disclosed, royal reporter Omid Scobie later clarified that Charles does not have prostate cancer.
Last month, the palace announced that His Majesty has started regular treatments and has been advised by doctors to delay public duties. However, he will still carry out State business and official paperwork as usual during this time.
Shortly after, Charles publicly acknowledged his diagnosis in a personal statement issued through Buckingham Palace.
On February 10, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has sent me messages of support and good wishes recently. For anyone dealing with cancer, these kind thoughts mean a lot and provide great comfort and encouragement.
I am grateful to hear from others who have gone through similar experiences. Seeing their dedication and care has only deepened my admiration for them, especially after going through it myself.
Charles has not been very active in public appearances, but he has still held meetings at Buckingham Palace. Meanwhile, other members of the royal family have been attending events on his behalf outside of the palace.
