Jamie Spears, the estranged father of Britney Spears, has been admitted to the hospital due to an infection. Various sources have reported this news, with Page Six being the first to break the story on October 5. According to People, Jamie, aged 71, is currently receiving treatment and is on the path to recovery at a specialized outpatient facility for infectious diseases.
There was no immediate response from Jamie's representatives to We's request for comment. In 2019, Jamie faced health difficulties and had to undergo two emergency surgeries for a ruptured colon.
Since 2008, Britney, who is now 41 years old, has had a problematic relationship with her father. This began when she was placed under a conservatorship due to a series of personal challenges. Jamie was initially her conservator, which granted him control over her estate; however, the role has now been taken over by Jodi Montgomery.
“I genuinely desire to take legal action against my family, to be completely frank with you,” Britney asserted during a court hearing in June 2021 as she battled to formally terminate her conservatorship. “Furthermore, I long to have the ability to share my narrative with the world, to reveal what they subjected me to, rather than keeping it a concealed secret that benefits them all. I'm discontent. I'm unable to sleep. I'm seething with anger. It's beyond comprehension. And I'm profoundly saddened.”

Jamie, on the other hand, never publicly addressed his daughter's allegations. However, in August 2021, he submitted documents agreeing to resign from her conservatorship team. Following a protracted legal dispute, Britney's conservatorship was ultimately ended in November of the same year.
Britney's relationship with her parents, Lynne Spears and her father, has been distant for a long time. However, a source revealed in August that the musician is now willing to reconnect with her family. The insider explained that Britney's circumstances have significantly changed as she deals with her divorce from Sam Asghari. With the end of her relationship with Sam, Britney is now more open to the idea of repairing her bond with her mother. Although Britney acknowledges it would take time and doubts a complete recovery of their connection, she is open to the possibility.
However, according to an insider, Britney has no intention of reconciling with Jamie. In addition to criticizing her father during her conservatorship hearings, Britney publicly accused her mother and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, of not providing any assistance.

In an August 2022 YouTube video that has since been deleted, Britney expressed her feeling that others secretly enjoyed her being the "bad one" and being messed up. She questioned why her family never intervened and instead went along with it, causing her a great deal of hurt. Lynne, who is 68, denied Britney's sentiment in an Instagram post during the same month.
"Britney, throughout your entire life, I have made every effort to wholeheartedly support your dreams and desires!" she expressed in a message. "Furthermore, I have consistently strived to assist you during challenging times!"
Although she has not yet resolved any issues with her family members, Britney is enthusiastic about embarking on a new beginning after her separation from Asghari, who she started a relationship with in 2016.
