Bridgerton’s Luke Newton Shares Hilarious Video of Him Pranking Nicola Coughlan

Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan from Bridgerton are sparking excitement both on and off screen. As fans eagerly anticipate the second half of Bridgerton season 3, Newton, known for his role as Colin Bridgerton, is sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content with us. This includes fun photos and videos from the set, where he even pulled a prank on his co-star.

Newton decided to play a prank on Coughlan, who portrays Penelope Featherington, his love interest in the show. The video of the prank was posted on Instagram on Monday, June 3.

In the video, Coughlan enters the Bridgerton hair and makeup room, only to be surprised by Newton hiding under the makeup table. She screams and runs out of the room, laughing, while Newton shouts, "Payback!"

Coughlan, 37, laughed and commented under Newton’s post, where they both posed in their Regency-era costumes.

Then, on Sunday, June 2, Coughlan posted a slideshow of behind-the-scenes images from Bridgerton season 3. The pictures included Newton sitting in a carriage from episode 4, as well as shots of costars Simone Ashley, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, and Jessica Madsen.

In the first half of Bridgerton season 3, which was recently released on Netflix, viewers were thrilled to see Colin and Penelope take their friendship to the next level as Colin proposed to her in episode 4.

But it looks like there will be obstacles ahead for the couple in the upcoming episodes. A new teaser trailer that came out on Monday hints that Penelope's hidden persona as Lady Whistledown, the mysterious writer of the society's scandal sheet, might be revealed.

In the clip, Eloise, who is Penelope's estranged friend and Colin's sister, encourages Penelope to be honest with Colin. Colin also notices some ink blots on Penelope's hands.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for Colin and Penelope, also known as "Polin," to finally get together since Bridgerton season 1 premiered in 2020. Newton and Coughlan, who play the roles of Colin and Penelope, have developed a strong friendship over the years, making it easier for them to film intimate scenes together in season 3.

Coughlan shared with Teen Vogue in an interview from April that the comfort between the cast members was evident after filming a challenging sex scene together. They felt relieved after completing the intense and involved scene.

The upcoming episodes of Bridgerton season 3 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting on Thursday, June 13th.
