Brendan Rodgers: Embracing the Celtic Homecoming, Determined to Reclaim Victory

Brendan Rodgers makes an emotional Celtic comeback, declaring it as 'home' but emphasizes the need to prove himself again; fans warmly welcome him back despite initial disappointment

Brendan Rodgers is determined to win and "prove himself once more" as he starts his second tenure as Celtic manager. He was warmly welcomed by the fans at Celtic Park during his re-introduction prior to a 3-2 victory against Athletic Bilbao in James Forrest's testimonial match.

Returning more than four years after leaving for Leicester, Rodgers described the experience as "amazing" and feeling like home.

"I must admit, throughout my career, I've had the privilege of managing some incredible and prestigious clubs. However, there is nothing quite like the feeling of being back here among individuals who I consider family, and simply being present in this arena."

"I am looking forward to it, I am going to relish every second of it. I think going away probably made me realise what I had and I was never sure if I would have that again.

In order to have the opportunity for that experience again, I am truly going to savor it, both on the field with the players and staff, as well as with the supporters. However, in order to do so, I must achieve victory and demonstrate my capabilities once more.

The standing section had a low turnout, and its members openly voiced their dissatisfaction with Rodgers' appointment on social media back in June. However, it seems that any negativity will be set aside as Celtic kick off their cinch Premiership title defense against Ross County this Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers returned to the Celtic Park touchline on Tuesday night.

On his reception, Rodgers said: "Clearly, it obviously means a lot.

My main focus is to form a team in this place and carry forward the established standards of the past decade or so. Therefore, it is crucial for all of us to unite and work together towards this goal.

The Celtic supporters are exceptionally remarkable, as they wholeheartedly back their team. I believe what sets this club apart is the unwavering support they give to the manager.

"We all go together from the weekend and look to push on and it's very important for us to be together."
