Superman: Legacy is currently undergoing screen tests to find the perfect actors to portray Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The movie, written and directed by DC co-CEO James Gunn, is a highly anticipated project in the new branch of the DC Universe. While there has been speculation about Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman, this film will introduce a new star in the lead.

According to the latest update, Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet, and Tom Brittney are currently in discussions for the role of Superman. As for the character of Lois Lane, the testing will involve Emma Mackey, Phoebe Dynevor, and Rachel Brosnahan.

Where You Know the Superman: Legacy Contenders

The three actors vying for the role of Lois Lane are all well-known personalities who have recently or are currently playing significant characters on popular TV shows. Brosnahan starred as the main character in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Dynevor portrayed the lead character Daphne Bridgerton in the first season of Bridgerton, and Mackey portrayed Maeve in the first three seasons of Sex Education. Additionally, Mackey had a prominent role in the murder mystery film Death on the Nile, released last year.

Hoult is expected to be the most recognizable actor among the title character contenders. Recently, he showcased his versatility in a horror-infused heroic role alongside Nicolas Cage as Dracula in Renfield. Hoult has also gained prominence through his performances as Beast in the newer X-Men movies and Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Corenswet has garnered attention for his strong supporting roles, such as his portrayal of the projectionist in Ti West's Pearl and River in Netflix's The Politician. On the other hand, Brittney, who hails from Britain like Hoult, is best known for her enduring role in Grantchester. While it remains uncertain which actors will emerge as frontrunners, it appears increasingly likely that concrete updates on this matter will be revealed soon.
