There has been much speculation among fans since the announcement that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Many have wondered if other members of the X-Men will also make an appearance in the highly anticipated movie. Rob Liefield, one of the creators of Deadpool, has given fans a glimmer of hope that Wolverine may not be the only X-Man in the upcoming film.
After a five-year wait, Deadpool 3 is finally in the works. This will mark the first time that the witty and irreverent Merc with a Mouth will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Previously, Deadpool made appearances in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the first two Deadpool films, all of which starred Ryan Reynolds in the titular role. Reynolds will once again don the red suit and bring Deadpool to life in the third installment.
Reynolds and Jackman won’t be the only familiar faces in Deadpool 3. According to Liefield, who recently spoke on the Nuke the Fridge YouTube channel, he has had the privilege of seeing the cast list for the upcoming film and is thrilled about the names featured on it. "Some information was shared with me in confidence before it was officially announced," he revealed. "I was already aware that Hugh and Ryan would be reuniting for 'Wolverine 3.' I have been incredibly fortunate to be in the loop regarding these projects. And let me tell you, after seeing that cast list, I can confidently say that people are going to be absolutely blown away. I can't reveal any more details than that, but trust me, it's going to be mind-blowing."
Liefield's response hinted at his involvement in the decision-making process for the upcoming Deadpool 3. He mentioned that he had discussions with Mr. Feige and the producers, expressing his gratitude for being consulted. While he did not explicitly confirm or deny the rumors surrounding the return of more X-Men characters, his carefully worded response left room for speculation.
This raises the question of which other characters will make an appearance in Deadpool 3. Given Deadpool's connections to the X-Men, it is likely that at least one member of the mutant team will be featured. Liefield's mention of fans being "blown away" by the actors in the movie suggests that some well-known names may be returning. While the specific identities of these actors remain unknown, logical guesses could include Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, James Marsden, and Ian McKellen.
The release date for Deadpool 3 is scheduled for May 3, 2024.
