Breaking: Elon Musk's Bold Move Sparks Twitter's Revolutionary Rebranding

Elon Musk gives Twitter a fresh new identity, rebranding it as X The iconic bird logo is replaced as Musk takes over the social media platform in October 2022

Elon Musk has announced the official rebranding of Twitter under the new name X. Musk, aged 52, shared this news on Sunday, July 23, and mentioned that the social media platform would now have a new title and logo. He further stated in a tweet that the interim X logo would be unveiled later that day.

Earlier in the day, the business tycoon, who acquired Twitter in April after buying the company earlier in October 2022, playfully hinted that the brand's upcoming logo design was almost finished. He stated, "If a sufficiently impressive X logo is shared tonight, we will unveil it globally tomorrow."

Furthermore, Musk subtly suggested that the logo should incorporate an Art Deco aesthetic, stating in a tweet, "If X bears any resemblance to a particular style, it should undoubtedly be Art Deco."

Musk has a strong connection to the letter X, as he founded the aerospace company SpaceX in 2002. "I'm not sure what subtle hints gave it away, but I have a fondness for the letter X," commented the Tesla CEO, accompanied by a picture of him crossing his arms in an X shape.

To mark Twitter's rebranding, the company adorned its offices with the new X design of the site. Musk shared a photo of the brand's San Francisco, California headquarters, captioning it as "Our headquarters tonight."

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino shared a similar photo of the building, which she captioned, “Lights. Camera. X!”

Yaccarino, aged 59, referred to X as "the future state of unlimited interactivity" in a series of tweets on Sunday. She further stated, "For years, both fans and critics have urged Twitter to think bigger, innovate faster, and reach its full potential. X will surpass those expectations and more. Over the past 8 months, we have already witnessed the emergence of X through our frequent introduction of new features, but this is just the beginning."

The announcement of the rebranding has elicited a mixed response from fans. One X user expressed excitement for a fresh start by stating, "I'm Xstatic for a new beginning." Conversely, another user conveyed their disappointment with the new updates by expressing, "Elon Musk fails at delivering choices that nobody wants!"

Sesame Street also joined in on making jokes about Twitter's new name. The official X account of the show posted a picture of a letter X puppet at a microphone with the caption, "The letter X will be holding a press conference later today."

After Musk bought Twitter last year, many celebrities voiced their disapproval of the platform's new rules and regulations. These changes included having to pay $7.99 to keep a verified blue check mark.

Gigi Hadid announced via an Instagram Story in November 2022 that she deactivated her Twitter account. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the platform, particularly its new leadership, which she believes has fostered an environment of hate and bigotry. Consequently, she no longer wishes to associate herself with Twitter.

In the subsequent month, Elton John revealed his decision to leave Twitter after discovering Elon Musk's intention to provide "general amnesty" to suspended accounts.

John, 76, expressed his lifelong endeavor to unite people through music. However, he lamented the use of misinformation as a means of creating division in our world. In light of Twitter's recent policy change that permits the uncontrolled spread of misinformation, he made the decision to cease using the platform.
