Author Walter Isaacson's new biography about Elon Musk reveals intimate details, including allegations that Musk and ex-partner Amber Heard engaged in Overwatch cosplay. According to Kotaku, after Musk compared Heard to the Overwatch healer Mercy, she reportedly dedicated two months to crafting a cosplay outfit for their roleplay. Their relationship, which began in 2013 after Musk watched Heard in Machete Kills, continued on and off until 2018. The cosplay incident occurred in 2017 when Musk visited Heard on the set of Aquaman in Australia.
During the biography interview with Isaacson, Heard expresses her fascination with Musk's work, calling herself a geek who can also be considered attractive. However, their relationship ended, with Musk describing it as "brutal," and Heard admitting that he tends to choose women who are not the best match for him, stating that "Elon is drawn to danger, and sometimes it harms him." Another former partner of Elon, Claire Boucher also known as Grimes, comments on their past relationship, stating that her own alignment in Dungeons and Dragons would be chaotic good, while Amber's would likely be chaotic evil.
Musk's fondness for gaming is well known, which explains the abundance of game-related references in the book. Among them is a mention of Elden Ring, where Isaacson reveals that Musk's purchase of Twitter was succeeded by a night-long gaming session of FromSoft's open-world RPG. During the session, Musk immersed himself in the perilous realm of Caelid. He has previously expressed his deep fascination with the game, going so far as to share a character build that left other Elden Ring enthusiasts somewhat bewildered.
