Nkunku sustained a knee injury while playing in a pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund.
This injury comes as a setback for new manager Mauricio Pochettino as he prepares for Sunday's Premier League opener against Liverpool, which will be broadcasted live on We.
Pochettino has expressed his willingness to consider another addition to the forward department before the transfer window closes. During the club's pre-season tour of the USA, Nkunku and £30m signing Nicolas Jackson have been sharing the responsibility of playing as strikers. Both players have made an impact by scoring goals in the successful Premier League Summer Series pre-season campaign.
Jackson and Armando Broja are now Pochettino's only available first-team strikers for the start of the new season.
