Sarita Choudhury bids adieu to her lengthy tresses, unveiling her fresh haircut on Instagram. The 57-year-old actress showcased her stylish asymmetrical crop, replacing her previously shoulder-length tousled dark locks, now gracefully grazing just below her ears on Saturday, October 21.
She shared two captivating photos in which she dramatically posed inside an elevator and alongside a pristine white stone statue. The actress had her hair elegantly parted to one side. Her outfit consisted of a stunning, figure-hugging Donna Karen dress with long sleeves that gracefully reached the floor. The dress was accentuated by a prominent silver side buckle. Complementing the ensemble, she wore a chunky silver ring and stylish black strappy heels. Choudhury captioned the photo as: "Embracing the @donnakaran archive with this enchanting look."
The post from the star of "And Just Like That" received a wave of positive comments from fans, friends, and co-stars. Mario Cantone, her co-star in AJLT, expressed his approval of her new hairstyle by commenting, "That is absolutely stunning! ❤️."
Padma Lakshmi, a writer, activist, and former host of Top Chef, expressed her views by writing in the comments, "Absolutely adore this. Your hair looks incredibly chic as well!"
Mariska Hargitay, known for her role in Law & Order, commented, "What?!?"
Poorna Jagannathan, star of Never Have I Ever, exclaimed, "My dear, what the actual f*ck."
Choudhury, who has been playing the role of Seema Patel, Carrie's new single friend, in the Sex and the City reboot for the past two seasons, has inevitably been compared to the beloved character Samantha Jones, portrayed by Kim Cattrall. Although Samantha does not appear in the new series, she did make a brief appearance in the season 2 finale.
During an interview with Elle, published on Monday, June 19, Choudhury shared that she considers the comparison to Samantha as a "compliment." She acknowledged that Samantha's character was known for being flexible and unpredictable, and while she doesn't see Seema as being exactly like Samantha, she does enjoy the freedom to push boundaries and express outlandish views similar to Samantha. Choudhury expressed her admiration for Samantha, describing her as a brilliant character.
Regarding her character's style, Choudhury expressed, "I've never experienced a wardrobe like this on any show before. It fits perfectly and makes you feel great." While confessing her usual shyness in requesting wardrobe pieces from sets, she did mention to Elle that she did manage to take home a single item from Seema's wardrobe, without divulging its identity.
“'[The producers] sent it to me so I have it hanging up. I’m not sure if I should wear it before the show comes out,” Choudhury told the magazine.
