Fans were intrigued by the rebranding of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. The newly debuted series reintroduced the familiar characters that fans had grown to love, allowing them to finally witness the progression and development of the story that they had eagerly awaited for months.
The conclusion of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations signified the start of the timeskip era. In the first chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, fans were able to witness the conclusion of the timeskip, with three years having passed and the characters having matured accordingly. As a result, the manga showcased an array of new character designs, providing fans with a closer look at Team 7 and other beloved characters.
Boruto Timeskip
The timeskip in Boruto commenced towards the conclusion of the Omnipotence arc in the manga. Within this storyline, fans witnessed Kawaki's determination grow and his decision to take matters into his own hands. It is well-known that Kawaki holds great admiration for Naruto Uzumaki, believing him to be his benefactor. When he realized Naruto's life was in jeopardy, Kawaki made the choice to seal him away along with his wife, while also attempting to once again harm Boruto Uzumaki. The two engaged in combat at the Hokage faces, but were eventually halted by Konoha ninja. Unfortunately, during the altercation, Boruto's eye was permanently injured.
Realizing his predicament, Kawaki attempted to flee Konoha but soon discovered there was no way out in his current condition. It was at this point that Ada intervened and offered her assistance. Unbeknownst to her, she utilized the power of Omnipotence to grant his desires. Kawaki wished to exchange lives with Boruto Uzumaki and be recognized as Naruto's son. Simultaneously, he wanted Boruto to be treated as an outcast and the killer of the 7th Hokage. As a result, Boruto was forced to flee the village, eventually accompanied by Sasuke, who would train him. This marked the beginning of the timeskip in Boruto, indicating that the series will become even more captivating going forward.
Sarada Uchiha's Character Design
After Boruto chapter 80, the manga went on a hiatus and finally made its return in August with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. The first chapter, titled Boruto, gave fans a peek into Konoha three years into the future following Boruto Uzumaki's escape from the village. During this time, there were numerous changes, including the growth of beloved characters.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 1 introduced Sarada Uchiha's new character design. Currently 15 years old, Sarada has undergone significant changes. She now sports short hair and wears rimless spectacles. Around her neck, she wears a choker, and her outfit consists of a baggy jacket with a tube top underneath. Additionally, she wears shorts and high heels, which raises some questions for a ninja. Despite this, fans find Sarada's design intriguing and hope that her strength has also developed over the years. In the chapter, Sarada briefly demonstrates her skills when Code attacks Konoha with his Grimes, allowing fans to witness his growth as well.
Mitsuki's Character Design
Another character fans caught a glimpse of after the timeskip is Mitsuki, the synthetic son of Orochimaru. Many believe Mitsuki has the potential to surpass even the legendary Sannin and become an exceptional ninja. Boruto Uzumaki plays a vital role in guiding Mitsuki on this path, as Mitsuki sees Boruto as his guiding light and has unwavering faith in him. Throughout the story, Mitsuki has shown great protectiveness towards Boruto.
Unfortunately, due to everyone's memories being altered, Mitsuki now believes Kawaki to be his guiding light, which is truly unfortunate. In the first chapter of the new series, Mitsuki was seen having a conversation with Kawaki. Mitsuki has noticeably grown, resembling a fully grown adult, and bears a striking resemblance to his brother, Log. He dresses in all black, with baggy trousers and a belt tied at his waist. Mitsuki's hair has also grown longer. Currently, Mitsuki holds a grudge against Boruto for his attempt to kill Kawaki, solely due to his altered memories.
Although we haven't witnessed Mitsuki in action since the timeskip, it is certain that he has grown significantly. As a medical marvel, fans are eagerly anticipating seeing Mitsuki showcase his skills in combat.
Boruto Uzumaki's Character Design
Finally, fans got to see the intriguing character design of Boruto Uzumaki. Although they had glimpsed his design in the series' prologue, it has clearly evolved. Boruto has grown considerably taller, and his right eye remains shut after his intense battle with Kawaki. He dons an open-collared shirt and a cape reminiscent of Sasuke Uchiha. His attire includes long black pants secured by two belts, mirroring Sasuke's style.
Notably, Boruto wields a sword resembling Sasuke's legendary Kusanagi sword. Around his neck, he wears accessories featuring the Uzumaki symbol and possibly a tribute to his sister, Himawari, displayed on his chest. Additionally, his cape bears the symbol of Konoha. Overall, Boruto's design embodies both playful elements and a touch of edginess.
Regarding his strength, fans have yet to witness much, but the upcoming chapters of Boruto will undoubtedly address that. In addition, fans were given a glimpse of Konohamaru Sarutobi, the leader of Team 7, and it seems that his overall physical appearance remains largely unchanged. However, his attire has undergone some notable alterations, with him now sporting a loose jacket over his clothes and abandoning the Shinobi vest. Fans can only anticipate the opportunity to witness more of him in the future of Boruto. To read Boruto, access it through Viz Media.
