Since its inception, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has seen significant changes. Fans have not only witnessed Boruto's new jutsu, but also the introduction of new antagonists. Unlike Naruto Shippuden, where Naruto had allies to battle the Akatsuki, Boruto only has Kashin Koji as his lone companion.
As a result, it is likely that Boruto will soon return to the Hidden Leaf Village, as hinted in the most recent chapter. However, this decision may not be due to a change of heart by Shikamaru, but rather the circumstances they are facing due to the Divine Trees.

In the Naruto series, each new enemy introduced seemed to be more advanced than the previous ones. This evolution was apparent as the enemies transitioned from mortal Shinobi to unstoppable reanimations of deceased Shinobi, and eventually to the Otsutsuki.
A similar trend was observed in the Boruto series, with a shift from Otsutsuki enemies to cyborgs and ultimately to Divine Trees. However, unlike the previous adversaries, the Otsutsuki and the cyborgs, the new antagonists are not focused on the Divine Tree, but rather on acquiring knowledge.

The typical instinct of the Divine Trees is to bite people in order to create Chakra fruit, but Code's influence has seemingly granted them self-awareness, leading to a transformation in their goals. Instead of focusing solely on cultivating chakra fruit, they are now more interested in obtaining knowledge.
It is also worth noting that despite the Otsutsuki's access to Shinjutsu, they have shown a preference for Ninjutsu. This is evident from Momoshiki's use of Boruto's jutsu even after taking over him. Similarly, the Divine Trees, despite having access to Shinjutsu, are inclined to use the ninjutsu of the person they transform into as a Divine Tree version.

Consequently, it is plausible that the Divine Trees will seek to gain further understanding of Ninjutsu. Given the significant role that the Hidden Leaf Village has played in the development of numerous ninjutsu techniques, it is highly likely that the village will be the next target of the Divine Trees. This is where Boruto may come into play.

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 4, Sarada Uchiha discussed with the current Hokage Shikamaru Nara. She disclosed that based on the conversation between Boruto and Code, it was clear that they had a hostile relationship. Given Code's attack on the Hidden Leaf Village, Sarada proposed to Shikamaru that the village should consider joining forces with Boruto to confront Code.
Despite the belief in the Hidden Leaf Village that Boruto killed Naruto and Hinata, Shikamaru may be compelled to collaborate with the runaway shinobi due to circumstances. This potential alliance could result in Boruto returning to the village, although it may not be the homecoming fans would hope for. Instead, he may be under surveillance, similar to the situation with Eida and Daemon, as he previously lived with the two cyborgs. It is likely that a similar outcome will soon transpire.

Hence, with the looming threat of Code and the Divine Trees, it is probable that Kawaki may allow Boruto to stay in the Hidden Leaf Village. This decision could potentially give Kawaki the opportunity to have Boruto within his reach, making it possible for him to strike at any moment. Such a turn of events could play a role in the eventual destruction of the Hidden Leaf Village, as shown in the flash forward at the start of the original manga series.

As a Gen Z netizen, I have mixed feelings about the latest developments in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga. On one hand, I am excited to see Boruto's journey unfold as he confronts new challenges and adversaries. The introduction of the Divine Trees and their connection to the Otsutsuki clan adds a new layer of complexity to the story, and I am eager to learn more about their motivations and abilities.
On the other hand, I am concerned about the potential consequences of Boruto's actions. His decision to leave the Hidden Leaf Village and align himself with Code has put him at odds with his friends and family, and I worry that his path will lead him down a dark and dangerous road. I hope that Boruto will eventually find his way back to the light and reunite with his loved ones, but I fear that the damage he has caused may be irreparable.
Overall, I am intrigued by the direction that the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga is taking, and I am excited to see what happens next. However, I also have some reservations about the story's current trajectory, and I hope that the author will be able to address my concerns in a satisfying way.
