Boruto enthusiasts rejoiced when Himawari graced the cover of the manga. Despite its long run, the series had not previously showcased Himawari on the cover, making fans particularly delighted to see a new character featured instead of the usual main characters.

However, there were some fans who were not pleased with the new cover art, as they had anticipated a Kawaki manga cover. Furthermore, numerous fans expressed their discontent with Himawari's character design in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Finally, although fans appreciated the character design, they began playfully teasing manga artist Ikemoto. This was because they observed that nearly every character in the series sported a belt, leading them to believe that Ikemoto couldn't draw a character without one. Additionally, a few fans expressed dissatisfaction with Himawari's portrayal in the series, particularly her baggy pants.
