Chapter 5 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, titled "Target," began with a flashback featuring Boruto and Sasuke during the timeskip. In the flashback, Sasuke informed Boruto that he had successfully taught him all of his techniques within a year. Sasuke noted that Boruto was exceptionally talented, with a quick understanding and determination akin to Naruto Uzumaki. This was why Sasuke made the decision to train Boruto, despite the memories associated with it. However, Boruto still needed to fully master the techniques.
Later, the manga saw Sasuke and Boruto in a fierce battle with Code. After Sasuke managed to injure Code's eye, he urged Boruto to flee, realizing that they stood no chance against Code in their current state. Sasuke then implored Boruto to hone his skills and protect Sarada. Ultimately, Sasuke made the ultimate sacrifice and transformed into a Divine Tree. Subsequently, Boruto was depicted inheriting Sasuke's sword.

The manga then shifted its focus to the present, with Konohamaru joining Shikadai, Inojin, and Chocho as they looked at Moegi's Divine Tree, who had been bitten by a Claw Grime while protecting others. As the four Shinobi planned to avenge Moegi, the manga switched its focus to the Shinju based on her, Matsuri, who could feel their despair.
According to the "leader" Divine Tree Jura, the Shinju, although the same entity, had different personalities and targets. Jura's instinctual target was Naruto Uzumaki, while Matsuri recognized Konohamaru as her target and Hidari, the Divine Tree based on Sasuke, identified Sarada Uchiha as her target while being confused about their existence.
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 5, Hidari was showcased, (Image via Shueisha) revealing that Eida was surveilling them with her Omnipotence. It was then discovered that the Shinju could also utilize the same ability as the Bug spotted Eida and singled her out as his target.
The manga depicted a conversation between Amado and Sumire. According to Amado's new memories, he required Boruto's karma to bring his daughter back to life. However, the physical evidence in front of him indicated that he actually needed Kawaki's karma. This led him to believe that someone had tampered with his memories, but he couldn't accept it without proof.

Sai and Shikamaru were depicted in the manga surveilling and eavesdropping on the entire conversation, suggesting that they were starting to believe Sarada's claims. Later, Sumire shared this story with Sarada, hoping to find physical proof to convince Amado to believe them. However, aside from Sasuke, no one else believed in their claims. Just then, Boruto appeared and revealed that Sasuke believed in him, but doubted his memories to protect him and Sarada. This prompted Sarada to hug him and scold him for being late, to which he apologized.
