Bobby Berk was “asked to leave” Netflix’s Queer Eye after eight seasons, a source exclusively tells We.
Berk, 42, a founding member of the Fab Five in the revived edition of Queer Eye that debuted in 2018, left the show reportedly due to a lack of synergy with the cast members. His co-stars included Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness.
According to an insider, Berk's departure was a result of numerous difficulties, including scheduling issues and Bobby's waning interest in filming the show. Both the network and the cast felt the need for a fresh perspective. Due to his lack of enthusiasm, the rest of the cast began to harbor resentment towards him.
According to another source, Berk's departure was not a result of being asked to leave but rather a mutually agreeable decision.
On Monday, November 13, Berk, the renowned interior design expert from Queer Eye, confirmed his exit from the reality TV show in a heartfelt statement addressed to the "Queer Eye community, who have become like family to me."
The love I have received from all of you over the past 6 years has been incredibly surreal. Sharing a few throwback photos from the show, I want to express my gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication as fans. Together, we have been able to showcase the transformative power of design and spread messages of kindness, love, and acceptance. Through your acceptance and embrace of my true self, you have profoundly impacted my life. I am forever grateful for this experience. Additionally, I want to honor the individuals who were the focus of our makeovers, our show's "heroes."
“To all our incredible, caring, extraordinary, and courageous heroes, there are no words that can fully express my gratitude and appreciation for allowing me into your homes and hearts,” Berk expressed. “It is because of each and every one of you that I continue to persevere, and every single one of you has had a profound impact on my personal growth. I am immensely proud of all of you! Assisting you in finding your true potential has been a privilege that I have never taken for granted, and one that I will always cherish.”

Berk’s Queer Eye cohosts all commented on his social media post, sharing their support.
"We will always be #ForeverTheFab5, regardless of anything," Brown, aged 43, expressed in a comment on Instagram. "I am gearing up to reach out to Netflix directly through emails and urge them not to depart! Who will join me on this mission? I deeply care for all of you!"
Berk remains an integral member of Queer Eye season 8, which has already been recorded in New Orleans. Its debut on Netflix is scheduled for January 24, 2024.
