Rumi Carter, at only 6 years old, is creating history.
Thanks to her special appearance on her mom Beyoncé's song "Protector" from the popular Cowboy Carter album, Rumi has become the youngest female artist to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The song made its debut at No. 42 earlier this month, according to Billboard.
Rumi’s older sister, Blue Ivy Carter, previously held the record as the youngest female to chart on the Hot 100 Chart after her featured appearance on Beyoncé, SAINt JHN and Wizkid’s “Brown Skin Girl” from The Lion King: The Gift album in 2019. She was 7 years old at the time.
Rumi’s accolade comes after Beyoncé, 42, made history by becoming the first Black woman to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart after Cowboy Carter hit shelves last month.
Beyoncé's album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 407,000 album units in the first week of April. She now ranks fourth for the most number one hits among women, after Taylor Swift (13), Barbra Streisand (11), and Madonna (nine).

Beyonce made history as the first Black female artist to have a song reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country chart with her country album introduction, "Texas Hold 'Em." She is a 32-time Grammy Award winner.
Beyoncé expressed her gratitude to her fans for their support in a heartfelt Instagram post ahead of the release of her highly anticipated album on March 29.
In her message, she shared her excitement about being the first Black woman to have a number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart. Beyoncé credited her fans for making this milestone possible and expressed her hope that in the future, an artist's race will no longer be a factor in determining the genres of music they release.
I have been working on this album for over five years now. It all started from a time when I felt unwelcome, and it became clear that I wasn't. But that experience led me to delve deeper into the history of Country music and explore our diverse musical heritage. It's amazing to see how music can bring people together from all over the world and highlight the voices of those who have dedicated themselves to educating about our musical past.
On top of my daughter Rumi being on Cowboy Carter, this album also features a lineup of incredible artists. From Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, to Post Malone, Paul McCartney, Tanner Adell, and many more. Each artist brings their own unique flair to the album, creating a rich tapestry of musical styles and voices.
Editor's P/S:
The rise of Rumi Carter as the youngest female artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 is a testament to the growing presence and influence of young artists in the music industry. It also highlights the impact of parental support and mentorship in shaping the careers of these young musicians.
Beyoncé's achievements with "Cowboy Carter" are equally impressive. Her success as the first Black woman to top the Billboard Top Country Albums chart demonstrates the breaking down of genre barriers and the increasing diversity of the country music landscape. Her album showcases a diverse range of artists, further contributing to the genre's evolution and appeal to a wider audience.
