Blake Shelton is determined to make a major lifestyle change in 2024. "I have struggled to quit drinking," admitted the 47-year-old singer in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. "Even reducing my intake has been challenging. It's going to be a resolution for me. I'll say it again now - that's my New Year's resolution. I'm committed to either cutting back or quitting altogether. Consider it said."

The ex-Voice coach is staying on track, revealing to ET that he and his wife Gwen Stefani intend to have a low-key New Year’s Eve. "If we're home on New Year's Eve, we'll probably be in bed before it even starts," he stated.

Shelton didn't elaborate on why he wants to cut back on drinking, but he has admitted to overindulging in the past. In July 2018, he fell during his performance at Oregon's Pendleton Whisky Music Festival.

"Hey Pendleton, I'm sure someone captured me taking a tumble on stage last night," he posted on X (then Twitter) the following day. "Please!! I need to see it! Share that footage! And yes, there was quite a bit of drinking involved..."

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were in attendance at the 48th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute honoring Julie Andrews on June 9, 2022 in Hollywood. The event was captured by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for AFI. In addition to his music career, Shelton also launched his own brand of vodka, Smithworks, in December 2020.

Shelton, who joined The Voice at its premiere in 2011, left the NBC reality singing competition series earlier this year after 23 seasons. He recently admitted that he feels he "overstayed" his time on the show.

"Truthfully, I didn't plan on sticking around that long," he revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show in November. "I was thinking of wrapping things up around 20 or 21 seasons but then COVID happened. I didn't want to leave the show in the middle of a pandemic and cause chaos, so I stayed. I didn't have much else going on anyway, so I stuck around a little longer. But it's too long for me to miss it now, I can guarantee you that."
