Bethenny Frankel and her fiancé Paul Bernon have been engaged for an extended period of time, however, they are not yet prepared to get married, as Frankel shared during her recent appearance on E! News on Monday, July 24.
Former star of The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny Frankel, recently divulged that she has no desire to get married for a third time, despite being engaged since February 2021. Frankel, who was previously married to Peter Sussman from 1996 to 1997 and later to Jason Hoppy, with whom she split in 2012 after a two-year marriage, expressed her contentment with her current life and her fiancé, Paul Bernon. She described Bernon as an incredible life partner and explained that she doesn't feel the need to enter into a legal agreement with someone she loves. Frankel also mentioned that she prefers to avoid the hassle of planning a grand wedding for others and instead focus on what they both truly want.
When questioned about the possibility of eloping with Bernon, Frankel evaded the inquiry, asserting her preference for following personal desires rather than societal expectations. She further emphasized that Bernon was well aware of the commitment he made when he proposed.
"I questioned him, 'What brings you here?' and his response was, 'I have made the conscious decision to be here,' she revealed. 'He resides with a person who is a clown and has a strong passion for comedy, hence that's the reason. I possess intelligence and wit, and he finds joy in comedy, thus he has a front-row seat to this amusing spectacle.'
The former Bravo celebrity initiated a relationship with Bernon in 2018 after connecting on a dating app. After a brief separation in October 2020, Frankel and Bernon reignited their love, publicly acknowledging their romance in January 2021 while enjoying a romantic outing together in Miami."
In that same month, Frankel's marriage to Hoppy was officially ended after eight years. The founder of Skinnygirl and Bernon shared news of their engagement in March 2021, and later disclosed that the proposal occurred one month earlier in the Florida Keys.
Frankel hasn't shared many details about her and Bernon's wedding plans in the past two years, but she did respond to criticisms about her decision to show off her impressive engagement ring. Frankel faced backlash last month when she uploaded an Instagram video expressing her excitement over her rumored 10-carat diamond ring.
Frankel expressed a sense of fear about the implications this could have on her, as noted in the caption of the June video. Criticism flooded the comments section with fans labeling the reality star as ostentatious and excessively boastful.
Paul Bernon and Bethenny Frankel, as seen on Bethenny Frankel's Instagram account, were engaged in a conversation in response to a user's comment. The user stated they also had a large diamond but did not flaunt or boast about their possessions. Frankel, in her reply, applauds the user's choice, but suggests they might lack a sense of humor, which cannot be exhibited in the same way.
Frankel stood by her statements, responding to a second critic who wrote, "Money talks ... Wealth whispers. Eeek." In retaliation, Frankel replied, "That may be true, but not on social media. This society glorifies extravagant multi-million dollar weddings in the South of France, pretending they are modest events. It's all a deceptive scheme. Lol, perhaps you should consider getting involved in some charitable work. Thank you for participating in this engagement post!"
Before his involvement with Frankel, Bernon had been married to Ashley Bernon for 14 years until their divorce in 2017. They have two children together.
