Ben Affleck commented on the recent Valorant nerfs at Valorant Champions, expressing disappointment with the significant nerf to Jett's abilities in the 7.04 patch.

Affleck playfully expressed his criticism in a video on social media, alongside Jett's voice actress, who agreed with him and showed gratitude for the reminder. Affleck confessed his enthusiasm for playing Valorant and disclosed that he switches between the agents KAY/O and Raze as his main choices. He humorously described himself as "promiscuous" when it comes to selecting his favorite agent.

During a surprise appearance at the biggest esports event of the year, Valorant Champions, Ben Affleck voiced his criticism of the recent Valorant nerfs. Specifically, he discussed the 7.04 patch which brought about numerous changes to the game, including a significant nerf to Jett, one of the Valorant agents.

Jett has been a staple character in all Valorant game modes since the popular free-to-play FPS entered open beta in April 2020. Known for her agility and various movement-boosting abilities, Jett excels at outmaneuvering opponents and quickly setting up lethal ambushes. This makes her invaluable in establishing map control and testing enemy defenses. Despite enduring multiple nerfs throughout the years, Jett's dominance in the metagame may now be approaching its demise, as the Valorant 7.04 update severely weakened her abilities like never before.

Ben Affleck has joined the growing list of players expressing their disappointment with the recent nerf at the 2023 Valorant Champions. Attending the Los Angeles tournament with his son, Affleck had a chance encounter with Shannon Williams, the actress who voices Jett in the game. Affleck's son mentioned that his dad could play Jett as his main, but Affleck clarified that this would not be possible due to the nerf. Williams shared a short video of their interaction on social media, where Affleck humorously criticized the nerf. Williams responded, thanking Affleck for reminding her about Jett's nerf and the impact it has on the character's viability. Affleck confirmed in a separate interview that he is an avid Valorant player and mentioned that he alternates between playing KAY/O and Raze, jokingly referring to himself as "promiscuous" in choosing his favorite agent.

Affleck's presence at the esports event was not the only time a celebrity made an appearance. Elon Musk also showed up at the end of the Valorant Champions Tour, but his reception from the audience was much colder. Attendees booed and chanted for him to "bring back Twitter," alluding to the recent rebranding of the social media platform to X. The tournament concluded with Evil Geniuses defeating Paper Rex by a score of 3-1, making them the first North American team to claim the title of Valorant world champions just three years after the game's release.
