BG3: Preparing for the Battle with the Spectator
One way to make the battle more manageable is by reaching level 5. Prior to the encounter, there are plenty of side quests available to help you achieve this level, which will significantly enhance the power of any class. It is advisable to approach the Spectator battle cautiously in order to gain an advantage. It is recommended to have the party hide and then initiate the cutscene featuring the boss's appearance. By doing so, only one character will be caught off guard.
Spectators will be spawned in roughly the same location, which presents an excellent opportunity to capitalize on. It is highly recommended to seize the oil barrels from the Selunite outpost. By detonating these barrels, players can significantly tilt the odds in their favor by depleting a substantial portion of the boss's health before the battle even commences. This strategic move is crucial, especially considering that the boss heavily relies on Status Effects and does not inflict significant damage during the initial turns.
How To Defeat the Spectator In Baldur's Gate 3
By adequately preparing for the upcoming battle, players can easily overcome the Spectator. However, implementing a few additional tactics will ensure that this boss poses no threat whatsoever. Given the Spectator's tendency to avoid close-quarters combat, it is advisable to dispatch fighters to strike at him while he attempts to flee.
Reviving and enchanting Drow and Dhourn can easily backfire on him. If players attack the Drow once, they will join forces and fight against the Spectator. However, a second attack will make them side with the boss again, so players must use spells cautiously. The Spectator will continually enchant them during the battle, but the player only needs to increase the number of allies with one strike. Considering that the Spectator can sometimes be defeated simply with oil barrels, the battle should not pose a challenge.
Baldur's Gate 3 is now available for PC and PlayStation 5 players.
