Colton Underwood, 32, and his husband Jordan C. Brown are excited to announce that they are expecting their first baby.
In a recent interview with Men's Health, Underwood shared that they used a concierge service to find an egg donor for the pregnancy. They made the decision not to know which of their sperm was used in the process. Underwood expressed that they were more focused on finding a donor who was "deep and cool" rather than specific physical traits like blue eyes and blond hair. He believes in the importance of nurture over nature, stating that as long as the baby receives love, everything else will fall into place.
Underwood shared ultrasound photos of their baby on Instagram, announcing, "Our little boy is coming this fall." He mentioned in a Men's Health interview that their surrogate is due in October.
The couple's happy news follows their wedding in May 2023. Underwood and Brown posted a joint Instagram message the day after their nuptials at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, California, declaring, "The Brown-Underwoods 💍 May 13th 2023."
Later that month, the Indianapolis native shared snippets from their wedding through a video slideshow on Instagram. In the caption, he expressed gratitude for the love and support received during the perfect weekend with friends and family.
Bachelor Nation first met Underwood during Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018, where he was eliminated in week 8. After appearing on Bachelor in Paradise, he became the Bachelor for the show’s 23rd season. It was during this season that he met Cassie Randolph. Following their two-year relationship, which ended in a tumultuous split involving a restraining order, Underwood came out in an interview on Good Morning America in April 2021.
For a long time, I've been running away from myself and harboring self-hatred," the ABC personality revealed. "I've finally come to terms with being gay earlier this year, and the next step was to share this with others. I can proudly say that I am now the happiest and healthiest I've ever been in my life, and that means everything to me.
Although Underwood documented his journey with Coming Out Colton, which premiered in December 2021, he intentionally chose not to include his relationship with his now-husband in the show.
He exclusively shared with us in January 2022 that he has been through and done that. Even before appearing on the show, he had conversations with the production company about not being ready to put himself out there due to needing time for self-discovery.
Since then, Underwood has been more open about his relationship on social media. On Valentine’s Day in 2022, he shared a heartfelt tribute to his partner, expressing his love and gratitude.
Later in the same month, Underwood and the political strategist revealed their engagement in February 2022. The Bachelor alum expressed excitement about the future, writing on Instagram with a photo of the couple.
In July 2022, while visiting Paris, the Chargers alum posted a sweet photo of the couple in front of the Eiffel Tower, labeling it "my love."
