Aven Jones has acknowledged his mistakes in his relationship with Kylee Russell after their sudden breakup.

"In giving this a lot of thought, I want to sincerely apologize to Kylee, my family, and my friends for my behavior," Aven, 30, expressed in an Instagram Story statement on Sunday, December 10. "I have made significant errors in the relationship and caused harm to someone who was very important to me."

He continued, "Right now, I'm in a very difficult place and I'm doing everything I can to focus on self-improvement and healing. I'm committed to finding myself and becoming a better person. I ask for your understanding and respect for Kylee and her family during this challenging time."

On Saturday, December 9, Kylee, 26, confirmed on her Instagram Story that she and the couple, who met on Bachelor in Paradise season 9, had decided to end their relationship.

"After revealing our relationship yesterday, I am grateful to God for not letting me remain in the dark any longer," she penned. "In the past 24 hours, I have been struggling with the knowledge that one of the most significant relationships in my life ended because of multiple infidelities."

Kylee and Aven officially announced their relationship on social media on Friday, December 8, just one day after the BiP season finale. On Thursday, December 7, they came close to a breaking point over whether or not to get engaged before leaving the show."

"I have strong faith in Paradise, but I can't help but see the different challenges of the real world. I can't make that comparison," Aven expressed during the finale on Thursday. "I don't want this to be the end for us. I don't want to lose her because of something that happened in Paradise."

He further explained, "If that's the discussion that surfaces, I will have to seriously consider my options because I'm at a loss. I don't know how to resolve this. I'm unsure of what the next step should be."

Kylee was holding onto a sense of false hope that Aven would change his mind and propose, despite previously appearing on The Bachelor. She came to Paradise with the hope of meeting Aven after exchanging flirty messages on social media.
