"Ashanti and Nelly are approaching their rekindled romance with a day-by-day mentality," a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of We. "Ashanti, who never would have anticipated reconciling with Nelly a few years ago, is now finding joy in their shared moments. Their focus is on savoring the present without any haste."
The couple, who were in an on-and-off relationship between 2003 and 2013, have a deep understanding of each other and share a great level of comfort, according to an insider. Recently, Nelly, 48, publicly revealed that he and Ashanti, 42, had unexpectedly reunited after almost ten years of separation.
"Yeah, we're cool again," Nelly mentioned during a September interview on Philo TV's "Boss Moves with Rasheeda" when questioned about reuniting with the singer. "I believe it caught both of us off guard though. It wasn't something that I think was intentional."
Nelly acknowledged that the period of separation provided them with a deeper comprehension of each other and emphasized that this time there is "no pressure."
“Before, it felt as though we were both pursuing our respective career paths, and when there are numerous individuals involved, it can become challenging,” he admitted.

Speculation about the rapper's relationship with Ashanti reignited in April, when they were seen holding hands at a boxing match in Las Vegas. Fueling the rumors, Ashanti shared an Instagram Story that night, revealing what seemed to be Nelly's hoodie in the background, teasing with the caption, "Oh hey" and a winky face emoji. Later in August, Nelly posted a video of him and Ashanti getting cozy and singing along to Usher's "Nice & Slow."
In the clip, the duo sang, "I desire to proceed at a leisurely pace. You see, I have eagerly anticipated this moment for a considerable time."
Ashanti and Nelly initially met at a press conference for the 45th Annual Grammy Awards. Although they initially kept their relationship private, attention shifted when they unveiled their collaborative tracks "Body on Me" and "Switch" in 2008.
