Mikel Arteta expressed his belief that Arsenal's summer signings will deliver "extraordinary contributions" to the team and did not rule out the possibility of additional arrivals before the transfer deadline. With the acquisitions of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber costing over £200m, Arteta aims to lead Arsenal in another challenge for the Premier League title, having finished second to Manchester City in the previous season.
Arteta commended the club's proactive approach in the transfer market, with successful acquisitions of Rice, Havertz, and Timber. He expressed his satisfaction with the added advantage of providing ample time for the new recruits to adapt to their new environment. "Each signee contributes unique qualities to our team," Arteta stated.
We are greatly delighted to announce that we have successfully secured the players we had desired. Their early signing has enabled them to quickly acclimate to the team.
With this extra time, we can now adequately prepare them to showcase their abilities and become accustomed to the Arsenal environment.
Arsenal has allocated the majority of their summer transfer budget to secure Rice's club-record transfer fee of £105m from West Ham, located in the same capital city.
When questioned about the ease of Rice's transition and the potential influence he can have in north London, Arteta stated, "I believe you are all aware."
"You are all familiar with his leadership, personality, and the impressive experience he has gained at the young age of 24. He has already formed strong relationships with some of the team members, and he already knew a few of them from his time at the England camp."
Arteta added, "Declan is widely recognized within the league for his outstanding performance, both for West Ham and the England national team."
"He is a player who will contribute numerous qualities, exceptional leadership, and extensive experience in the league. He possesses very specific skills for his position. We are thrilled to have him."
Arsenal's summer expenditures may largely be finished, however, Arteta disclosed the possibility of additional transfers before the September 1 deadline.
Arteta mentioned that there is ample time remaining in the market and high anticipation among our players. He added that they will monitor the situation closely in the upcoming weeks, keeping an open mind for potential transfers and departures. He expressed confidence that progress will occur.
