Arsenal Star Gabriel Jesus' Shocking Season Opener Setback: Knee Procedure Delivers Devastating Blow

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus set to miss start of season as he undergoes knee procedure Manager Mikel Arteta confirms that the injury is linked to his previous setback which kept him sidelined for the majority of last season

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus, the club's striker, will be unavailable at the beginning of the Premier League season. Jesus has recently undergone a knee procedure and will be sidelined for a few weeks, according to Arteta's statement after Arsenal's victory in the Emirates Cup against Monaco on Wednesday.

"Regrettably, he underwent a minor procedure this morning," Arteta stated. "His knee had been causing him discomfort and presenting issues, necessitating intervention. He will require a few weeks of recovery."

Additionally, the Arsenal manager disclosed that Jesus' current setback is connected to a prior knee injury sustained during last year's World Cup, which resulted in his absence for the majority of the latter part of the season.

The 26-year-old featured in Arsenal's recent pre-season friendly against Barcelona, a 5-3 victory in the US. He played for 79 minutes and earned praise from Arteta afterwards. Stay tuned for further updates.
