Arsenal has submitted a third bid to West Ham for the transfer of Declan Rice, amounting to £105m. If the offer is agreed upon, it would render him the highest-valued British player to date. The proposed deal consists of an initial payment of £100m, along with an additional £5m contingent upon performance-based milestones.
Content: The Gunners' offer for Rice surpasses Arsenal's previous transfer record of £72m, which was paid to Lille for Nicolas Pepe in 2019. Rice is Arsenal's top priority this summer and the player has expressed his desire to join the Gunners.
On Monday night, it was reported by News that Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, had made an upfront offer of £80m along with an additional £10m in add-ons for the talented England midfielder. However, this bid falls short of West Ham's valuation.
Earlier this month, Arsenal had their club-record bid of £90m rejected by their London rivals. The bid consisted of a £75m fee and an additional £15m in add-ons. Arsenal's initial offer, rumored to be around £80m plus add-ons, was also turned down.
West Ham values Rice at £120m, but they are open to an offer of £100m plus a player. Rice, who led the club to their first European trophy in 58 years, will depart from West Ham during the upcoming offseason.
Despite having one year remaining on his contract, West Ham chairman David Sullivan confirmed that Rice is able to leave the club due to a gentleman's agreement. This agreement also provides an option to extend his contract for an additional 12 months. Rice, who transferred from Chelsea to West Ham's academy as a teenager, has been a constant presence since his breakout season in 2017-18. Following Mark Noble's retirement, Rice assumed the captaincy.

Additionally, he played a key role in their triumph in the Europa Conference League in Prague. Rice's impressive career at West Ham has seen him amass an astonishing 200+ appearances, while also representing England on 41 occasions since his international debut in 2019.
