Microsoft has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Ark: Survival Ascended during the Xbox Partner Preview event. This remake of Ark: Survival Evolved, powered by Unreal Engine 5, showcases significant graphical enhancements. Surprisingly, the game has been released today on PC, while its availability on Xbox and PlayStation consoles is scheduled for November. This remake offers a complete overhaul, featuring physics-based destruction, increased environmental details, and enhanced lighting. Moreover, the UI has been revamped, allowing players to customize it according to their preferences, making it as immersive or minimalist as desired.
Developer Studio Wildcard has provided more information about Ascended's cross-platform modding system in a recent blog post. To enhance the modding experience, the game will feature a built-in CurseForge mod browser, giving players access to a wide range of user creations. Furthermore, Studio Wildcard has exciting plans in the works, collaborating with "professional game studios and developers" to bring original content and intellectual property to Ascended, potentially resulting in unique crossovers with established franchises.
Ark: Survival Ascended offers not only all previously-released paid DLC but also introduces new content of its own. This includes additional store content, fresh DLC, seasonal events, and quality-of-life updates. Additionally, Studio Wildcard has announced that the game will see the introduction of 11 brand-new creatures gradually over time, providing players with even more thrilling experiences in the game.
Ark: Survival Ascended is out now on PC and will come to consoles in December. Studio Wildcard is also developing Ark 2, featuring Vin Diesel, for release in 2024.
