Ariana Madix is making her Broadway debut in Chicago, set to play Roxie Hart starting January 29. During an episode of Live With Kelly and Mark on Wednesday, December 6, Madix, 38, shared her excitement about this dream come true, saying "I can’t believe this is real life. I’m going to cry."
Chicago's official Instagram account announced on Wednesday that Madix's performance will be running for approximately two months until March 24, 2024. Originally debuting in New York City in 1975, the show follows the stories of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly as they navigate a murder trial and vie for the legal representation of the famous Billy Flynn.
Madix announced her Broadway appearance the day following her performance on the Dancing With the Stars season 32 finale, where she and her partner Pasha Pashkov finished in third place behind runners-up Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach, and the champions Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Expressing her gratitude for the experience and the connections made during the ballroom journey, the Vanderpump Rules star took to Instagram on Tuesday, December 5. "I am so beyond grateful for this experience and the family that I’ve met during this process," she wrote. "Every contestant, every pro, every person on the crew, every judge. I wish I could put into words what this has meant. This place and this show is magic."
Before making a name for herself on DWTS and becoming a star on Bravo reality TV, Madix had a deep passion for performing. She pursued a theater degree in college and worked as a costume character at Disney World. "Broadway was my ultimate childhood dream," she expressed on Live.
Despite Madix’s experience on the stage, joining DWTS (and grooving in heels) was a whole new experience.

Exclusive in her We cover story for October, she shared, "I'm having the best time. If I could do rehearsals and performances every day for the rest of my life, I'd be happy. I find it so rewarding and fun. The hardest part is the wear and tear on the body. Regardless of being in shape or not, you're not dancing in heels every day. That starts to affect you in ways you didn't expect. It's intense — I spend a lot of time icing my feet at home."
At that time, Madix expressed, "If you had asked me to wear my samba outfit and go to lunch on Vanderpump Rules three months ago, I would have felt very self-conscious. But now, I am more focused on my actions and less concerned about my appearance, and that is definitely a positive change."
