Ariana Grande stole the show at the Met Gala with her royal presence. The 30-year-old singer made a grand entrance on Monday, May 6, as four men carried her on a white pillow. She kicked off her performance with the song “Once Upon a Dream” from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, perfectly fitting the theme of the event, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."

She shared a mesmerizing video of her stunning entrance on Instagram, receiving a flood of compliments from famous fans. Kris Jenner commented, "STUNNING and MAGICAL!!!" while Tan France added, "WOW. WOW. WOW."

Grande's performance featured songs like "Into You" from Dangerous Woman, "Seven Rings" from Thank U, Next, and "We Can't Be Friends" from her latest album, Eternal Sunshine. To wrap up the show, she joined her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo to perform "When You Believe," a classic song by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack in 1998.

Grande and Erivo, 37, made dazzling appearances on the turquoise carpet ahead of their stage show, posing arm-in-arm at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Erivo looked stunning in a Thom Browne gown adorned with sequins and pink petals. She added a playful touch with a bedazzled bug pendant. Grande opted for a Loewe gown with a mother of pearl bodice and flowing skirt. Her outfit hinted at her upcoming role as Glinda the Good Witch in the movie Wicked, set to release in November 2024.

For my look, I wanted to create a dreamy and light-inspired style, drawing inspiration from nature and the way mother of pearl shines in the light. In an interview with Vogue on the day of the gala, I mentioned that pearl is my birthstone, making it special to me. I also love how it subtly references Glinda's bubble from Wicked, with hints of pink and green.

When it came to my performance outfit, I wore a structured corset adorned with tulle and crystals. I expressed how putting on this ensemble made me feel the most like myself I've ever felt.

“It is my favorite thing I’ve ever worn, and I’d like to never take it off,” she told the outlet. “I mean it—they will have to try their very best to pry it off of me.”
