Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have attempted to keep a low-profile — until now.
The couple was seen having dinner at the MO Lounge in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City on Saturday, October 21, as shown in photos obtained by TMZ.
In the pictures, Grande, 30, and Slater, 31, appeared to be enjoying each other's company, sharing laughter at a discreet table in the restaurant. They seemed unable to resist touching each other.
Grande spent time with Slater several weeks after her divorce from ex-husband Dalton Gomez was officially concluded on October 6, following two years of marriage. The couple got married in May 2021 but Grande filed for divorce in September, citing February 20 as their date of separation. Initially, there were disagreements surrounding their prenuptial agreement, but they were able to reach a compromise, as stated in court documents obtained on October 10.
Grande has agreed to provide Gomez with a tax-free sum of $1,250,000 and half of the net earnings obtained from the sale of their residence in Los Angeles. Additionally, Grande will be responsible for covering up to $25,000 in attorney fees for Gomez. Considering the prenuptial agreement, no spousal support will be granted. Both Grande and Gomez will retain their personal possessions, and the home furnishings will be divided equally between them.
As stipulated in the prenup, neither party is allowed to share any photographs or videos from their marriage or discuss their relationship publicly.
Grande's separation from Gomez was confirmed by Us after she was seen at Wimbledon in July without her wedding ring. The couple had experienced a difficult period in their relationship prior to the separation. Additionally, it was revealed in the same month that Grande had started a new relationship with Slater, her costar from the film Wicked. In the film, Grande portrays the character Glinda, while Slater will be playing Boq.
According to a source, Ariana and Ethan are in a new relationship and are having a great time together. They have recently started seeing each other and are enjoying each other's company.
Us Magazine verified that Slater filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Lilly Jay, on July 26. This came shortly after news of his relationship with Grande became public. An insider revealed that Lilly was taken by surprise and that Slater had informed her of their marriage being over just a few days before the news about him and Ariana broke.
Contrary to one source's denial, another source claimed that both Slater and Grande started dating after they were already separated, indicating that their relationship is recent.
During an interview with Page Six on July 27, Jay expressed her disapproval of Grande, stating that she does not exhibit qualities of being supportive towards other women. Jay also added that her family has become an unintended casualty in this situation.
Grande and Slater have since maintained a low profile, particularly after receiving advice to proceed with caution. A source revealed in August that Grande is conscious of how she is viewed by her fans and is making efforts to display maturity. However, the source added that if it were solely up to her, she would eagerly be seen with him in public without delay.
Grande and Slater took heed of the advice and refrained from making their first public appearance until late September. According to an insider, the couple chose to visit Disneyland with a large group comprising of Grande's mom, brother, and friends, who notably adore Slater.
Since their individual breakups, Grande and Slater now reside together in New York on a full-time basis. As confirmed by a source, they are incredibly content and mutually beneficial for one another.
