Nottingham Forest has finalized the acquisition of forward Anthony Elanga from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old has joined Forest for an undisclosed amount and has secured a five-year contract, committing him to the City Ground until 2028.

Elanga expressed his pride, both for himself and his family, describing it as a significant milestone in his career. He eagerly anticipates the opportunity to showcase his talent in front of the devoted Forest fans at the City Ground. Despite receiving interest from other sources, Elanga firmly believes that Nottingham Forest is the ideal destination for him.

He exclaimed, "Since my time at United, I have experienced the overwhelming support from the crowd, even when I was about to step onto the field for warm-up. This truly is an extraordinary place. However, being a part of Forest now, I anticipate an even more remarkable experience.

Ross Wilson, the chief football officer for Forest, expressed his delight that Anthony has decided to join Nottingham Forest out of the various impressive opportunities available to him.

He showed immense dedication and enthusiasm towards furthering his collaboration with Steve Cooper on the field since our initial meeting. Moreover, he displayed great enthusiasm for and acceptance of Mr. Marinakis's aspirations for the football club. Manchester United welcomed Elanga in 2014, and he proceeded to climb the ranks within the youth system at Old Trafford. Ultimately, he made his senior debut in the latter stages of the 2020/21 season.

With 55 appearances under his belt for United, he managed to find the back of the net four times. Additionally, he was honored with the club's Young Player of the Year award in 2020. Moving on to his international career, Elanga made his debut in March 2022 and has since earned 12 caps while scoring three goals for his country.

He becomes Forest's second summer signing following the arrival of defender Ola Aina from Torino.

The 2023/24 Premier League campaign for Nottingham Forest will kick off with an away game against Arsenal on August 12th. Following this, on August 19th, Steve Cooper's team will have a home match against Sheffield United, and they will later face Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 26th.

Forest will travel to Newcastle on Boxing Day, and then close out the year with a home match against Manchester United on December 30th.

The final home game of the season for Forest will be against Chelsea on May 11th. Their season will conclude with an away game against Burnley on May 19th.
