Tottenham are scheduled for additional discussions with Nottingham Forest on Thursday concerning the acquisition of Brennan Johnson. Meanwhile, Eric Dier must deliberate on his future with Spurs.

Johnson has emerged as Tottenham's primary objective for bolstering their forward line. Despite facing competition from Brentford, Spurs are intensifying their efforts to secure the signature of the Welsh international before the deadline on Friday at 11pm.

Forest manager Steve Cooper acknowledged on Thursday that they are approaching a crucial juncture, stating, "If any developments are on the horizon, it seems we are reaching that moment.

At present, there is no official update, and consequently, we will continue our operations as usual. Our focus will be on maintaining a sense of normalcy throughout the day."

Spurs have considered other options, including Ansu Fati, but they do not intend to interfere in his transfer to Brighton. The Spaniard is set to join the south coast team on Thursday.

As for Johan Bakayoko, another target for Spurs, he is likely to remain at PSV Eindhoven as they have secured a spot in the Champions League group stages.

Spurs are primarily focused on outgoing transfers and are actively seeking solutions for players such as Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg, and Tanguy Ndombele. Currently, they have three players exceeding the 25-man squad limit for the Premier League.

Dier needs to leave for regular football

Tottenham centre-back Eric Dier was offered to Bayern Munich but they are not interested

Spurs' defender, Dier, is set to spend the entire season without playing due to his commitment to honor his contract with Tottenham. Various clubs have expressed interest in securing a permanent signing of the 29-year-old within the remaining two days of the transfer window, ensuring he receives consistent playing time.

However, Dier's preference is for a loan move in order to fulfill his remaining contract with Spurs, as it is now in its final year. Unfortunately, Tottenham has no intention of loaning him out. Given his current status as their fourth or fifth-choice center-half, he is likely to have limited game time this season.

Dier has yet to be included in any of their matchday squads, including the recent Carabao Cup match against Fulham. Since joining the club in 2014, he has made 361 appearances. With the European Championships approaching at the end of this season, Dier could potentially be considered for a spot on the England team due to his consistent play.
