Bridgerton fans were quick to notice a short carriage scene in the season 3 trailer, getting excited about what was to happen in the new episodes.

One fan expressed their excitement by writing, "OMG we have a carriage on the # [sic]. Carriage scene coming in the trailer confirmed," on Thursday, April 11. They were referring to a picture of a fancy carriage next to the show's official hashtag.

One viewer expressed their concern about a scene in the trailer for Bridgerton season 3. They mentioned feeling the need to apologize in advance for not being able to stop talking about it.

The official trailer for season 3 of Bridgerton was released on Thursday, featuring two short scenes with Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) in a carriage. In the first seven seconds, viewers catch a glimpse of Colin from behind through the back window of the carriage. Shortly after, he is shown changing his shirt while traveling in the carriage with his brothers Anthony (played by Jonathan Bailey) and Benedict (played by Luke Thompson).

After catching a glimpse of his brother's impressive abdominal muscles, Benedict jokingly asks, "Brother, where did you get so strong under a different sun?" This playful comment refers to Colin's transformation in Romancing Mister Bridgerton.

Inspired by Julia Quinn's fourth book in the bestselling regency romance series, Bridgerton season 3 follows the story of Colin and Penelope Featherington (portrayed by Nicola Coughlan on screen). The book includes a 10-year time jump, with Colin returning to London after his travels abroad. Lady Whistledown even declares Colin as the "prime catch" of the season, highlighting his wealth, looks, physique, and charisma in the first chapter.

In Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Colin finally meets his match in longtime friend and admirer Penelope. Their romance takes an unexpected turn when Colin confesses his feelings, leading to their first intimate encounter in Chapter 12, set in a carriage.

Upon discovering Penelope's secret career as Whistledown, Colin offers to escort her home after dropping off her latest column in the ton. Despite trying to persuade Penelope to stop writing the gossip leaflet, Colin passionately kisses her to prove his feelings after she reveals her insecurities as an "ugly duckling."

Seeing a carriage in the trailer has fans excited that the steamy moment and romantic reveal could be on the way via Netflix. One kiss leads to even steamier antics for Colin and Penelope, only to be interrupted by the carriage arriving at the Featherington’s house, prompting them to consider marriage.

Earlier this month, one X user reminded everyone that the episode titled 'Romancing Mr. Bridgerton' is episode 6. By this point, we may have already seen the first kiss, carriage scene, and possibly even Colin's love confession from Quinn's novel.

What do you think is the best romantic comedy of all time?

While Netflix and Shondaland have not confirmed further details about the story lines of Bridgerton season 3, both Coughlan, 37, and Newton, 31, have hinted that they filmed steamy scenes together.

"It's a spicy one," Coughlan shared with Entertainment Tonight at Netflix's TUDUM festival in June 2023. "A lot of the stuff from the books that the fans expect has made it into the show. Oh my god, there was one day where we had to do a very romantic scene. We were just peeing ourselves with laughter because you just have to look into each other's eyes and we were like, 'Oh god.'"

The first half of Bridgerton season 3 premieres on Netflix on Thursday, May 16. The remaining episodes drop on Thursday, June 13.
