Adele paying homage to the late Matthew Perry left her deeply moved. Expressing her sorrow during her Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, October 28, the 35-year-old songstress shared, "It's always incredibly jarring, particularly when it's someone who brought so much laughter and happiness to your life, but whom you've never had the chance to meet. It's that inexplicable feeling of sadness, especially when you're unaware of the circumstances surrounding their passing."
Perry was discovered dead in a Los Angeles home's jacuzzi at the age of 54, just hours before Adele's concert. The Los Angeles coroner's office has officially confirmed his passing on Sunday, October 29, and an ongoing investigation is currently underway.
The renowned actor gained fame for his portrayal of the lovable and sarcastic Chandler Bing in the beloved sitcom Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004. Adele was among the millions who cherished the NBC series.
"I'll never forget that character for as long as I live," the singer exclaimed. "He's arguably the greatest comedic character ever created."
She went on to recount a cherished memory from her youth, reminiscing about her close circle of friends. She specifically recalled a friend named Andrew, who, at the tender age of 12, possessed an unparalleled talent for impersonating Chandler. His hilarious impressions never ceased to bring joy to their group, serving as a remedy for anyone going through a tough day or feeling down. To this day, the singer will forever hold that character dear in her heart.

Adele, who dedicated her song "When We Were Young" to Perry, recently disclosed that she ceased consuming alcohol earlier this year. Perry, on his part, was forthright about his struggle with addiction and other health concerns throughout his life.
"He was exceptionally honest about his battles with addiction and sobriety, and I believe that takes immense courage," she expressed. "I simply want to express how much I appreciate what he did for all of us, especially what he did for me... and hopefully, he can now find peace in eternal rest."
Adele was not the sole individual paying tribute to the actor on Saturday night. Throughout various NHL games, the arena resonated with an orchestral rendition of the renowned Friends theme song "I'll Be There For You" by The Rembrandts. (Perry had a profound love for hockey, particularly the Los Angeles Kings, and had attended their 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs match against the St. Louis Blues.)
Saturday Night Live also dedicated its episode to Perry, who had hosted an episode in October 1997 and notably parodied his own sitcom by portraying Matt LeBlanc's character, Joey Tribbiani. The NBC variety show incorporated a special title card after the final skit, featuring a black-and-white photograph of Perry from his hosting debut, alongside his name.
