Actor Michael Stuhlbarg, best known for his roles in the movie “Call Me by Your Name” and TV show “Boardwalk Empire,” was hit in the back of the neck with a rock on Sunday night while in New York, as reported by the police.
The police received a report around 7:45 p.m. ET on Sunday about an assault in progress near the reservoir in Central Park, specifically around 90th Street and East Drive. They found a 55-year-old man who had been struck in the head by an unknown object.
The New York City Police Department reported that a 27-year-old man threw a rock, hitting the victim in the back of the neck and causing an abrasion. The incident was disclosed in an email to CNN on Monday.
The victim pursued the 27-year-old man to the front of 9 East 91st Street, where uniformed officers apprehended him without any further trouble. Despite the injury, the victim declined medical assistance at the scene, according to the NYPD.
A law enforcement official confirmed Stuhlbarg was the victim hit with a rock to CNN on Monday.

The suspect, Xavier Israel, was arraigned on Monday and is currently facing an assault charge, as stated in court records.
