Former "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor**** was tragically shot in downtown Los Angeles while trying to stop thieves, as reported by his agent and CNN affiliate KABC.
The actor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on the hospital soap opera, was leaving work early on Saturday morning when the incident occurred, according to his mother speaking to KABC.
In a statement to CNN, Wactor’s agent David Shaul praised him as a wonderful person. He described Wactor as not only a talented actor dedicated to his work but also a role model for those around him.
Shaul highlighted Wactor's strong work ethic and determination to always improve. He mentioned that working with Wactor was a privilege that they cherished. Wactor was known for his generosity and kindness, always willing to help others.
After being together for more than ten years, Shaul expressed that Wactor's passing has left a permanent void in their hearts. Wactor's legacy as a hardworking and compassionate individual will always be remembered.

Wactor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, spoke to CNN affiliate KABC and confirmed his death.
Her son was walking with a coworker after their shift at a rooftop bar downtown. They noticed someone working on a car, which caught his attention. Initially, he thought his own car was being towed. So, he went up to the person to inquire, as shared by Scarlett Wactor to KABC. However, to their shock, the individual looked up and started shooting.
The shooting happened at 3:25 a.m. PT on Saturday, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im. Three men were attempting to steal a catalytic converter when they were interrupted by the victim. One of the suspects then shot the victim before fleeing in a vehicle.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Im said.
The LAPD did not confirm the victim was Wactor.
Wactor starred in “General Hospital” as Brandon Corbin from 2020 to 2022, according to IMDB. Other acting credits include “Criminal Minds” and “Siberia.”
