Activision's plan to introduce the "Covert Exfil" feature to Call of Duty: Warzone has been cancelled. The feature, which would have allowed players to secure a helicopter ride to safety as a means of "winning" a match, will not be included in the Season 1 Reloaded update. The intention was for players to be able to purchase covert exfils from buy stations before the gulag closes, with a limited number available per match. This would have allowed players to escape the battlefield via helicopter without it being considered a traditional "win," providing an alternative to being the final player or team standing.
Furthermore, Activision had plans to introduce a new premium weapon case to Warzone connected to covert exfiltration. The concept was for players to compete for this case and request a covert exfil before the standard end of a match, offering another way to enjoy Warzone without being the ultimate survivor. However, fans quickly voiced their disapproval, arguing against the idea of exiting a Warzone match without being the final player remaining.
In addition to these exciting additions to Warzone, Raven Software has announced that they will be placed into a dedicated mode rather than being part of the main battle royale experience. The team is eager to see how players will respond to the new challenges and is looking forward to continued feedback once the mode is available.
Season 1 Reloaded also introduces a new core multiplayer map for Modern Warfare III, Rio, and another DLC Operator from The Boys. Additionally, there is a new multiplayer event called Supe Siege. Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan of Call of Duty: Warzone, I am thrilled that Activision has reversed its decision to introduce the controversial "Covert Exfil" feature. The idea of being able to secure a helicopter ride to safety and escape the battlefield without being the final player or team standing seemed like a departure from the core gameplay mechanics that make Warzone so exciting. The fact that this feature would have been tied to a premium weapon case only added to the frustration, as it felt like Activision was prioritizing monetization over player experience.
I appreciate that Activision has listened to the feedback from the community and decided to scrap the Covert Exfil feature. This shows that the developers are willing to listen to their players and make changes when necessary. I am also excited about the new core multiplayer map for Modern Warfare III, Rio, and the new DLC Operator from The Boys. These additions will bring fresh content to the game and keep things interesting for players like me who have been enjoying Warzone since its launch.
