With her new song just days away, Ariana Grande is ready for her close-up.
Singer Ariana Grande shared a photo on Instagram, revealing the upcoming release of her new song "Yes, And?" on January 7. The picture, captured by her creative partner, Katia Temkin, is a close-up of Grande's face with red lips and wide eyes. Grande also announced that the new song would be available on January 12. Several celebrities, including Nicki Minaj and Ariana's brother Frankie Grande, expressed their excitement for the upcoming release in the comments.
A new single was not the only purpose of the photo—it was actually the cover art for Grande's upcoming album. In late December 2023, Grande hinted that the follow-up to her 2020 album "Positions" would be released this year. She seemingly confirmed this with a post on her Instagram Story on Monday, January 8. She wrote, "P.s. I couldn’t wait any longer to tell you that although this is not the album title, [the photo] is indeed the album cover (well…….one of them!)" Grande's last solo single, "POV," was released in March 2021. Since then, she has been featured on a few songs, including remixes of The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears" and "Die for You," as well as Demi Lovato's "Met Him Last Night."

While Grande's music career has been relatively quiet in recent years, her personal life has been the focus of attention. Last year, she and husband Dalton Gomez split after secretly getting married in 2021. It was later confirmed that the couple separated in January 2023 and finalized their divorce in October of that year. During this time, Grande began a relationship with her Wicked costar Ethan Slater (who filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay, in July 2023.)

As 2023 came to a close, Grande took a moment to reflect on the "most transformative, challenging, and yet happiest and most special years of my life." Sharing on her Instagram Story, Grande expressed experiencing "so many beautiful yet polarizing feelings" and feeling an intense sense of pride, joy, and love while also grappling with feeling deeply misunderstood by those who don't know her.
In the end, Grande admitted that from now on, she will "listen to and trust myself, even when fear or trauma tries to hold me back. I will only give my energy to things that deserve it and remove or protect myself from those that do not."
