A Royal Visit Awaits New York City as Prince William Anticipates the Earthshot Prize Awards

Prince William eagerly anticipates his visit to New York City for the prestigious Earthshot Prize Awards, where the Innovation Summit will take place in September

Prince William is set to make a comeback to New York City in September, with a jam-packed itinerary awaiting him upon arrival in the Empire State. According to an exclusive source, during his stay of just over two days, the Prince will be participating in the Earthshot Prize Summit as well as numerous other engagements and meetings.

The Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit is set to take place on September 19 as part of New York Climate Week. According to an insider, Prince William is eagerly anticipating his trip to New York and expects a busy schedule. It has been seven years since the Prince of Wales, 41, last visited the city officially. His previous intended visit was for the Innovation Summit in the previous year, but it was cancelled following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 from natural causes, just a week before the event.

"Protecting the environment was a cause that my grandmother held dear, and I believe she would have been thrilled to learn about this event and the support that you are all giving to our Earthshot finalists, the next generation of environmental innovators," William expressed in a video message played during last year's Summit. "Within this room, we have the individuals and organizations who will play a significant role in helping us achieve the Earthshot mission: repairing, restoring, and rejuvenating our planet within the current decade."

In 2020, William established the Earthshot Prize in collaboration with The Royal Foundation to recognize individuals who discover, develop, or amplify revolutionary solutions to address climate change. The primary objective of the organization is to honor solutions that yield rapid results, with the ultimate goal of establishing a stable climate by 2030.

At the September Summit, the heir to the British throne will unveil the 15 top contenders for this year's prestigious prize and introduce their innovative climate solutions. William and Mike Bloomberg, a global advisor to Earthshot winners and the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions, are both expected to speak to the audience during the special presentation.

Following the September announcement, the 15 finalists will eagerly await the revelation of the five winning projects for the Earthshot Prize Awards. The grand ceremony, now in its third year, will take place in Singapore on November 7. Each of the five winners will receive £1 million to advance their efforts in combatting climate change.

William and his wife, Princess Kate, graced the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston last year. Before making their appearance on the green carpet, they had the opportunity to meet with Mayor Wu and enjoy a thrilling Boston Celtics game.
